Direct cremation is also referred to as an unattended funeral. This is ideal for anyone who would prefer a simple yet dignified and respectful funeral. A direct cremation does differ from a traditional funeral in the following aspects; there is no funeral service before the cremation takes place and there are no mourners in attendance at the cremation. This is becoming a popular option for many reasons; without a service the cremation cost is more affordable as there is no need for extra requirements such as- Minister/Vicar or celebrant, floral tributes, limousines or an order of service. This approach can give families the opportunity to hold their own memorial service or celebration of life, enabling you to remember your loved one's life in a way that suits you and your family.
